Day 2, Sapporo to Otaru (小樽). Thursday
We took the so called “Romantic train” (浪漫号)to Otaru. During 2011
winter the scenery, whity snows all over, blue open sky touching the greeny blue clear ocean.
The train going through the tunnels covered with white snow. Very beautiful views. We purposely went through the same path for the summer. But the feeling and view were different. The
trains going along the ocean lines, passing through the rocky tunnels with lot
of fat seagulls flew around. Once in a while when the train taking the corner,
it will whistling “tut-tut….daka dang daka dang..... tut-tut.....daka dang daka dang.......”. Kids like the trains whistling as like that saw and heard in the Thomas train story.
First destination, we went to 三角市场 for our lunch. It is a old style Japanese fish market that we can
select our fresh sushi or don. Over here was the place we ate the raw prawn,
very sweet and fresh. We never thought that prawn can eat raw!

We always buy Hokkaido milks in Tokyo. And now we like Hokkaido milky ice-cream too.
When we reached the music factory, and thought of making a music box belongs to us 'The neighbor totoro'....Opssss... It already finished! Ok, that is good to save the money. 3000yen for a own made music box, seem little bit pricy. Romantic in heart is good enough.
Canon in D! ^^ our wedding theme song... is good enough to romantic in heart. Save the 3000 yen too.
At first we planned of hang around Otaru only for 3 to 4 hours and will return to Sapporo. Ended up we spent the whole day over there. Settled our dinner at Ramen republic that have lot of Ramen choices.
It was late when we return to Sapporo. We called it a day!
