Mass - how much matter there is in something

 

Mass, we use the word mass to talk about how much matter there is in something. (Matter is anything you can touch physically.) On Earth, we weigh things to figure out how much mass there is. The more matter there is, the more something will weigh. 

 

The difference between mass and weight is that weight is determined by how much something is pulled by gravity. If we are comparing two different things to each other on Earth, they are pulled the same by gravity and so the one with more mass weighs more. But in space, where the pull of gravity is very small, something can have almost no weight. It still has matter in it, though, so it still has mass.

 

Often, the amount of mass something has is related to its "size", but not always determine its weight.

A balloon can blown up bigger than your head will still have less matter inside it than your head and therefore less mass.

 

So the matter of life that not determine by the size of our head nor our heart, but the values giving the weight of it. It reminded me the versus in the bible. "你要切切保守你心，因为一生的果效，是由心发出。－箴4:23","Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it. Proverbs 4:23".  Since we stand on the Earth and so it pulled the same gravity then we got the weight of it. And so, guard our heart with God's words and live the value of it. Simple as our mass will become unmeasurable!

 

We did an expariments with it and  I like today lesson.

 

 

 

 

Mummy : "Dear boys, lets look at the ants. What you think about them?"

Ethan : "They protect each another!"

Mummy : "Ok, that is 'Protection', can you name some more on the ant?"

Ethan : "They love to dig!"

Mummy : "Good! that is call 'Passion'. Ants have the passion to do the work and love it when doing it!"

Emmanuel : "They not sleeping!"

Mummy : "Yoku tekittane! They are 'hardworking' and also they LOVE each another and sharing the work among them. That is Helpful!"

 

So here we got some of the value of the ant "Protection", "LOVE", "Hardworking", "Passion", "Helpful". Then we weight the value and get the Mass of it.

 

Then we use another empty cup to represent of another object without 'matter of value', then we shake on the cups on a plate. Apparently the empty cup felt easily.

 

Mummy : "Look at the cup, which one will fall down and shake most?!"

Ethan : "The empty cup"

Mummy : "YUP! you got it! Those stone is like a value hold in our heart. If we love....bla... bla.. bla... If we have Passion.... bla.. bla..bla..If we Hardworking...bla bla bla...If we helpful... bla .. bla.. bla... If we protection from God... bla.. bla.. bla...."

 

 

 

 

 

 

By the end of this lesson, Ethan and Emmanuel wanted to be grow up be the person with mass of value, they agreed to grow from the words of God to guide their pace.
