For the fish topic, we did the fish experiment again for our science lesson on every Thursday. Kids at home like to do hands-on, especially the 2 boys.The little girl following her brother pace, doing what they are doing, what they did. They check carefully on each part of the fish and they asked lot of questions.
Mummy : "Ok, times up! we need to clean up and prepare for our fishy lunch."
Emmanuel : "Mummy, I still haven't finish fish experiment. "
Mummy : "What else you haven't check out yet?"
Emmanuel : "I will want to see the fish...."
Mummy : "bla... bla... bla... ..." Finally Emmanuel and Ethan convinced to cook the fish.
Emmanuel : "Mummy, next time we do the 'CHICKEN' experiment? We didn't do the chicken experiment before.....We buy a whole big chicken....."
Mummy : "hmmm... life one or from the supermarket?"
Emmanuel : "the chicken with feather and check their intestine..."
CHICKEN???!!!
It seems the students standard have go one level up. They wanted to do more than just the fish. They keen to learn more, if the topic attracted their interest. They will never said "times up" for it. Is time to make use their interest and adding more interest into the subject to move on their learning path. But how much I can do with it with my ability...
From their life, I see their desire to know more, to do more, to learn more. Should it be in the knowledge, should it be in the value of life. They have faith the sun will shine on them in the morning and they seek for happiness. They jump, they run, they play, they wriggle the body with the music, they live for the present.
The Greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven
At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Who, then, is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?” He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me. Matthew 18:1-5
